A bed bug is a type of insect which does not have wings, and it feeds on the blood of warm-blooded animals especially human beings. Their colors differ, but a dark red color is prominent whenever they have fed. The specific places where bed bugs are found include sofas, beds and other soft furnishings. They prefer a dark environment so they will mostly attack a person at night when the lights are switched off. Bed bugs feed on people’s blood when they are asleep. Nowadays, bed bugs have become common both in public and private sheltering places. Getting rid of bed bugs is necessary whenever you notice that you have them in your home. Remove clutters from your room and clean the infested garments and linens. Bed bugs hide in different places therefore, they can also be found in items found in a room infested with bed bugs. Remove all the personal items including blankets, electronics, and toys from the room. Bed linen and infested garments should also be removed from the room. The bed linens and infested garments should be washed with hot water to kill any available bed bugs or bed bug eggs. To avoid transferring the bed bugs to other rooms, you need to be very careful when removing items from the infested room.
Dismantling of bed frames and dresser drawers is necessary whenever you are getting rid of bed bugs. Most of the time bed bugs hide in furniture cracks. Dismantling the bed frames and dresser drawers will expose the hiding places for the bed bugs. Bed bugs hiding in the bed frames and dresser drawers should be killed using an insecticide or very hot water. Throrugh cleaning should be done to dresser drawers and bed frames to ensure that there is no bed bug which is left. Remove any fabric from the bed and also clean it. Covering the mattress can ensure that bed bugs do not enter or exit from the mattress. Any bed bugs between dresser drawers and walls should be exposed by pulling the dresser drawers away from the walls.
The infested area should be cleaned. Clean the area using a stiff brush. All bed bugs’ eggs will be removed when such a brush is used. Vacuum cleaning should be applied when cleaning the cracks and crevices on the furniture. A vacuum cleaner removes all the particles in the crevices and cracks, and hence an insecticide will be effectively sprayed on those areas. A vacuum cleaner will pull any bed bugs available in the room.
Spray a bed bug insecticide in the room and furniture. The insecticide will kill any bed bugs left in the room. Use insecticides which are in liquid form. The ways mentioned above can be used in bed bugs removal.
